Are you telling youth to read the Bible… or are you teaching them how to do it?

Teaching youth how to read and understand the Bible is one of the most important things you can do. But if you read Proverbs the same way you read Ephesians then you’re going to be very confused. And then there are the “weird” passages that make you scratch your head in utter confusion! It’s not simply enough to lead youth to want to read the Bible if they don’t know how to do it.

This series offers practical guidance about the key “ingredients” of different biblical genres, or types of writings. We start off by discussing what the Bible is and how we got it, and then walk students through the different types of writings they’ll encounter, in order that they’ll be able to discern and hear the Word of God through Scripture.

This series is “Christian Spirituality” portion of the Ongoing Discipleship Curriculum.
