Introducing the YPT Curriculum!
we aren’t the first generation who’s burdened for the next generation
That means there’s lots to learn from how Christians have always called the next generation into faith that endures. For most of Church History, Christians have built their discipleship model around the Apostles’ Creed, Lord’s Prayer, and Ten Commandments in order to lead believers to honor God with their head, heart, and hands.
Visit the website to learn more about how the YPT Curriculum can help you call youth into faith that endures.
A sample lesson is available now. We’re completing the graphic design and the full series will be available for $100 USD on July 28th.
The rest of this year’s curriculum will feature the Ten Commandments (in late September) and the Lord’s Prayer (in late November). In future years, all three series will be available during the Summer.
Introducing the YPT Curriculum
A Few Distinctives of the YPT Curriculum:
Built on a legacy of discipleship. Since we aren’t the first generation who’s committed to the next generation (and they’ve been pretty effective, since we’re still here), then let’s learn from the way Christians have always passed the faith from generation to generation! Catechesis is so much more than forcing children to memorize questions and answers, it’s a time-tested pattern of forming the head (Christian doctrine), heart (Christian spirituality), and hands (Christian living).
Discipling the whole person. Churches tend to be really strong in one branch of catechesis, dabble in a second, and either overlook or give lip-service to a third. That breakdown will look differently depending on your church culture or tradition. But using the YPT Curriculum will ensure that your youth will see how the gospel shapes their whole lives.
Written for an international audience. Rather than using examples and stories that connect Scripture with culture, the opening intro will present a story from Church History or Scripture that displays the need for and beauty of that lesson’s big idea. That way, the YPT Curriculum will connect with your youth whether you’re in Indiana or India.
Teach your youth to ask good questions of Scripture. The “biblical foundations” section anchors each lesson in good Bible study. The following sections, “Living Theologically” and “Applying the Bible” always feature the same questions from lesson to lesson. In the Leader’s Guide, we supply some reflections to help you guide discussion. But the regularity of these sections will teach your students a few good questions that will guide their Bible-reading for years to come. Visit the curriculum page and download the sample to see what we mean.
